Bismillah jan shinwari death: Bismillah Jaan Shinwari, a member of the ICC Umpire Panel, died at the age of 41, the cricket world is in mourning. Afghanistan’s Shinwari was admitted to a hospital in Pakistan after his health deteriorated a few days ago, he had a surgery but after that he died. Shinwari had an onfield umpiring in 46 international matches.

Bismillah Jaan Shinwari umpiring 25 ODIs and 21 T20 Internationals. Apart from these, he was also a TV umpire in 9 ODIs and 5 T20 matches. The cricket world is in mourning due to his sudden death. The ICC and Afghanistan Cricket Board paid tribute to him.

Surgery was done in Peshawar

Bismillah Jaan Shinwari’s brother quoted Tolo News, saying, “He had gone to Peshawar after getting sick. He said that he wanted to undergo surgery to reduce excess fat. He admitted to the hospital for a few days. He underwent surgery but unfortunately he died after the operation.”

The Afghanistan Cricket Board expressed condolences and wrote, “ACB’s leadership, employees and all people are very sad and shocked by the demise of Bismillah Jaan Shinwari (1984 – 2025), who was a respected member of the elite umpiring panel of Afghanistan. We are sharing the news of the death of Afghani cricketer with you. The Afghanistan Cricket Board expresses his condolences and deep sympathy for his family, friends and the entire Afghan cricket. Almighty Allah gives him the highest position in paradise and in this difficult time, his loved ones will be patience and power.

ICC chairman Jai Shah expresses condolences

In the ICC statement, Chairman Jai Shah said, “His contribution to the game was very big and the cricket community will miss him. We are very sad with this damage and express their condolences to his family and loved ones.”
