In Iran, American citizens have been abducted without warning and crime without any warning and wrongly arrested. These include citizens having dual citizenship (US-Irani). Some were imprisoned for years in false charges, mental torture and even death sentence has been heard. Only being American passport or having a relationship with America can cause arrest for Iranian officials.

Addressing a press conference, the US State Department spokesman Tami Bruce said, “The Iranian rule does not recognize dual citizenship and refuses to provide consular assistance to the detained American citizens regularly.” He said that although the bombing has stopped, it does not mean that it is safe to travel to Iran.
