Ukraine’s new Prime minister: Ukraine’s Parliament on Thursday confirmed Yulia Swiridenko as the new Prime Minister of the country. This decision is part of a major official reshuffle launched by President Volodimir Zelancesi.

Close to former deputy Prime Minister and Zelansky
Yulia Swiridenko has previously been the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Economic Development. Since summer 2024, he was being considered as a possible candidate for the post of Prime Minister. She has long been close to President Zelancesi and his powerful advisor Andree Yermak. Swiridenko has been the main architect of the mineral agreement between Ukraine-America. This agreement is a controversial economic participation, under which the US gets the right to make profit from Ukraine’s huge mineral resources.

He is also a well-known person among Brussels officials. He has often led talks with the European Union and other European countries.

European Commission Chairman’s support and best wishes
European Commission Chairman Ursula von Der Leon congratulated Swiridenko. He wrote, ‘We are fully standing with you, because you are fighting for the existence of Ukraine and working to rebuild your country and join the European Union.’
