The Madras High Court has granted interim anticipatory bail to the stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra till 7 April. The case is related to the alleged derogatory remarks against Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. The court has said in its order that the petitioner has said in its petition that they cannot approach the court of Maharashtra … because their lives are threatened.
The Khar police of Mumbai had sent summons to Kunal Kamra on March 31 to appear for questioning for questioning. This is the second summons of the police. The Madras High Court gave an interim bail and said that he will be given relief from arrest until Kunal Kamra takes permanent legal measures. The case was filed by Shiv Sena MLA Muraji Patel.
This whole matter has arisen from Kunal Kamra’s recent show at Khar’s Habitat Comedy Club. A parody song was sung targeting Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister and Shiv Sena chief Eknath Shinde. After this, Shiv Sena supporters vandalized the place where the show was done.
