Even before the Punjab Assembly elections 2027, the BJP has started preparing to occupy the political land of the state. However, the views of different party leaders are not matching. On the one hand, the discussion of the BJP-Shiad alliance in Punjab was again gaining momentum, but now the executive president Ashwani Sharma has put a stop to these speculation.
Pahel Punjab BJP chief Sunil Jakhar had discussed the alliance with Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD). Now Ashwani Sharma has announced that BJP is going to contest all the 117 seats alone.
According to the report of news agency PTI, Ashwani Sharma says that the people of Punjab have already seen the rule of Congress and SAD. Now I have also seen the Aam Aadmi Party. After seeing all the parties, the public has expected only from the BJP to get rid of everyone.
Why was BJP-SAD alliance formed?
Ashwani Sharma said, “You will say that you had an alliance with Akali Dal. We had already formed in the interest of Punjab because the state had come out of extremism at that time.” Referring to the previous alliance with the Shiromani Akali Dal, Ashwani Sharma said that it was done to ensure peace and harmony in the state. Today, BJP is preparing to contest all the 117 assembly seats.
Ashwani Sharma also mentioned that the 2022 assembly elections and Lok Sabha elections 2024 fought on their own. Every party worker is working day and night to feed lotus in Punjab and form BJP government.
SAD was separated from BJP in 2020
The BJP executive president had said that the BJP-shiad coalition was a demand for that time. In the year 2020, the Shiromani Akali Dal distanced away from the BJP -led coalition NDA. That was the time of agriculture law, which did not make SAD to SAD. Later, three agricultural laws were also withdrawn by the government.
Old SAD-BJP alliance in Punjab
According to the previous agreement between the two parties, BJP used to contest 23 seats and SAD 94 seats. In the parliamentary elections, SAD used to contest 10 seats and BJP 3 seats.
