Former cricketer and coach of the Indian cricket team Sanjay Bangar has said that Yashasvi Jaiswal lost his wicket of stump due to missing a direct ball while covering the stump. Yashasvi Jaiswal started the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy with an impressive century, but, since then his performance has been simple. In the first innings of the fifth Test of the series being played at The Oval, he was out lbw by scoring just 2 runs off the ball of fast bowler Gas Atkinson.
On Jaiswal’s wicket, Sanjay Bangar said, “Generally, it is believed that when the bowlers come to the round the wickets, the batsmen cover their stump all the time. Now, if you miss the ball then the mistake of mistake is very low. I believe that you can reach the middle stump A.”
Bangar said, “If you start with off stump and try to cover it constantly and miss the direct ball, then you do not have any chance. The same thing happened to Jaiswal.”
