Cleanliness has been an important issue in India for a long time. Especially when foreign tourists come to India and clean garbage, it becomes more important. Something similar happened in Himachal Pradesh too. In fact, the video of a foreign tourist picking up the garbage is going viral, to the actress and Lok Sabha MP from Mandi Kangana Ranaut.
He has described this act as “shameful”. In the video, foreign tourists are seen picking up the garbage scattered near the waterfall, while Indian tourists are standing around and watching only the view.
What did the garbage tourist say?
In the video, the foreign person picks up the garbage and looking at the camera and says, “If I have an empty day, I will sit here and say to the people, ‘pick it up’. I will not feel bad to say to anyone.” After this, he puts the waste in a nearby dustbin.
Sharing this video, Kangana Ranaut wrote in Instagram Story, “Shemful”. Kangana’s statement is important because she is an MP from Mandi, and this area comes in Himachal Pradesh, where this incident happened.

People also expressed resentment on social media
On this, the anger of users is also bursting fiercely. According to the Hindustan Times, a user wrote on X, “It is necessary to teach our generation that it is wrong to spread dirt. Some parents are teaching children to throw garbage out of the car.” The other wrote, “Foreign tourists are often more aware of cleanliness, while our people are indifferent.”
One wrote, “This is not just the issue of racism, but also the question of the civic sense of Indian tourists. That is why our image is spoiled.” Some called it ‘national shame’ and said that citizens should at least do so that themselves should be picked up.
