The date of August 15 is near, so preparations have started in the capital. In view of Independence Day, Delhi Police has started comprehensive security arrangements in the capital. Police Commissioner SBK Singh has issued new orders.
As per the order, from 2 August to 16 August 2025, flights of drones, para-clider, hot air balloon and other sub-commercial aerial platforms have been completely banned. This decision has been taken to ensure Delhi’s security and prevent possible threats.
Strictness in view of security
This ban has been imposed under Section 163 of the India Civil Protection Code, 2023. According to the police, some anti-social and anti-India elements may misuse these air equipment during Independence Day. This can threaten the safety of general public, important establishments and dignitaries.
Ban on these under order
This order will be applicable from August 2 to August 16, 2025. During this period, no person will be able to do activities like drone, para-motor, microlite aircraft, quadcopter, remote aircraft, hot air balloon or para jumping. Strict action will be taken under Section 223 of the India Justice Code for violating the order.
Order binding for all
Delhi Police has clarified that this order will be applicable to all persons, whether they have been informed personally or not. It will be publicly posted on all the respective offices, such as DCP, ACP, Police Office, Tehsil Office, NDMC, MCD, PWD, DDA and Delhi Cantt Board’s notice boards. With this, the general public will also get complete information about this security step.
