A great opportunity has come for the youth dreaming of a job in the railway. Eastern Railway has announced the recruitment of thousands of posts of Apprentice for the year 2025. Under this recruitment, eligible candidates will be selected as apprentices in various trades. The application process will start from 14 August 2025 and interested candidates can join it by filling the online form.
According to the notification issued by Eastern Railway, a total of 3115 posts will be recruited. This recruitment is being done for various workshops and divisions, including areas such as Howrah, Sealdah, Malda, Asansol, Kanchrapada, Lilua and Jamalpur. This recruitment is a golden opportunity for the youth to start a career in the Railways.
Educational qualification
Candidates applying for these posts should be at least 10th pass (secondary). Along with this, ITI certificate is also necessary in the related trade. The certificate of the candidate should be from a recognized board or institute.
Age limit
To apply for these posts, the minimum age of the candidate should be 15 years and the maximum age should not be more than 24 years. However, candidates of reserved classes will be given age relaxation according to government rules.
Selection process
No written examination or interview will be taken for apprentice posts. The selection will be fully on merit base, which will be decided on the basis of the candidate’s 10th class and the marks obtained in ITI. The candidates who have the same marks will be selected on the basis of their age – in which priority will be given to older age.
Training and stipend
Selected candidates will be trained for the scheduled time. During the training, he will also get a stipend (training allowance) fixed by the government. After completing the training, candidates will get experience of working in the respective field, which can be beneficial for the permanent job in future.
Application fee will have to be paid so much
General, OBC and EWS (EWS) candidates will have to pay 100 fees. SC, ST and women candidates will not have to pay any fee.

Required documents
While applying online, candidates will have to prepare information like their 10th and ITI certificate, photo, signature, caste certificate (if applicable), and Aadhaar card.
Application process
Candidates will be able to apply online from 14 August 2025. The last date to apply is 13 September 2025. Applications will be accepted only on online means on Eastern Railway’s official website https://er.indianrailways.gov.in.
