According to the report of Cricbuzz, a decision has been taken to change the schedule of ICC Women’s World Cup. The Karnataka State Cricket Association has not received permission from the Government of Karnataka for organizing matches at M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
The opening match of the World Cup was to be played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium itself, which is fixed between India and Sri Lanka. It is reported that now the matches to be held in Bangalore can be held in Thiruvananthapuram. India had to play 2 matches here in the league stage, after September 30, the second match of India was scheduled on 26 October with Bangladesh. However, the official announcement of changes in schedule and venue is yet to be made.
Why will the World Cup matches not be held at M Chinnaswamy Stadium?
Royal Challengers Bangalore won their first title last season (IPL 2025) after 18 years. The title match took place at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium, in which he defeated Punjab Kings.
