Central government can come to Dussehra in a hurry regarding GST reform

GST reforms: The central government is very fast on the GST reform. The 56th meeting of GST Council is going to be held in New Delhi on 3 and 4 September. A day before this, there will be a meeting of officials on 2 September. However, earlier this meeting was to be held in late September or in early October. But after the statements of the states, this meeting is going to be held ahead of time. The government is trying to implement the new GST rate by Dussehra i.e. October 2.

According to reports, officials say that if everything is according to the plan, it will be implemented around Dussehra.

Fast track mode on GST

It is worth noting that a group of ministers met in Delhi on August 20 and 21, in which 12 percent and 18 percent GST rate was supported. State ministers involved in this meeting have agreed to the step of keeping the new rate 5 percent and 18 percent by changing the GST structure.

Significantly, PM Modi announced the GST reform during his speech on the occasion of 79th Independence Day from the ramparts of the Red Fort. He announced the Next Generation GST reform before Diwali, saying that this move of the government will reduce the tax burden on the common people. Along with this, he said that this will be a Diwali gift for all of you. During this time, he had said the purpose of GST reform to give public interest and the economy to give a new pace.
