The US has imposed a huge tariff of 50% on India, causing a major loss to India’s exporters. According to the report, this decision was not part of any general trade policy but is the result of President Donald Trump’s personal resentment.

The report of the US multinational investment bank and the financial services company Jefferies has claimed that Trump wanted to mediate the India-Pakistan conflict in May. However, India made it clear that it would not accept any third party intervention. This refusal angered Trump and decided to put a huge tariff on India.

Trump wants Nobel Prize!

Trump has claimed many times that he has ended many struggles in the world. The White House had given a statement that Trump should receive the Nobel Peace Prize. In July, Press Secretary Caroline Lewitt had said that the time has come to give the Nobel Peace Prize to President Trump. At the same time, Trump even wrote on Truth social that he can find a thousand years old solution of the Kashmir issue. However, India’s refusal shocked this ambition.

US finance minister told India stubborn

The report said that the US wanted India to open its agricultural sector for imports. India refused to do so to protect the interests of farmers. About 25 crore farmers and laborers in India are dependent on agriculture for their livelihood because 40% of the total workforce is in agriculture. Because of this, US Finance Minister Scott Besant had called India a little stubborn.

India’s response to Trump’s tariff

India said that this move of America is unfair and unfair. India warned that such an attitude could bring it closer to China. Especially because India and China are going to start direct flights after five years from September.
