Former IPL chairman Lalit Modi has been in the headlines recently. He released Harbhajan Singh’s video of slapping S Sreesanth. Now he has revealed that once he took a pledge and said that if an Indian cricketer takes 6 sixes in an over or 6 wickets in one over, he will get a Porsche car in a gift. He made this promise during the 2007 T20 World Cup.
Lalit Modi told Michael Clarke’s podcast that the 2007 T20 World Cup had not started. He went to the Indian dressing room before that and said, “If any player takes 6 sixes or 6 wickets in an over, then I will gift the Porsche car to the player on my behalf.”
Did Yuvraj Singh get Porsche?
The Indian team won the 2007 T20 World Cup title, performing amazing. Incidentally, in this World Cup, Yuvraj Singh hit 6 sixes in 6 balls against Stuart Broad, a young bowler of England. Lalit Modi told how Yuvraj Singh reminded him about his vow.
Lalit Modi told that Yuvraj had looked at him on the boundary after hitting 6 sixes. He said, “Yuvraj was looking at me. He picked up the bat and ran towards me while running and said, ‘I want my porsche car.’ I said first give me the bat (which hit 6 sixes). “
According to the promise, Lalit Modi gifted the car to Yuvraj Singh. At the same time, the bat with which Yuvraj Singh hit 6 sixes, is still kept in Lalit Modi’s house as a sign of that proud moment of the 2007 World Cup.
