Akshay Kumar has once again shown why he is called one of Bollywood’s most hearty and kind actors. Actually Punjab is struggling with the most severe floods in its history. So far 43 people have died in this disaster and villages of 23 districts have been submerged. In such a situation, Bollywood players Kumar have come forward to help these flood victims and they have given crores of rupees for help.

Akshay Kumar gave Rs 5 crore for Punjab flood victims
Please tell that Akshay Kumar has announced a hefty amount of Rs 5 crore for the relief and rescue work of Punjab flood victims. He has described his move as not a donation, but the task of service. In a media statement, Akshay said, “I stand on my view on this. Yes, I am paying Rs 5 crore to buy relief material for the flood victims of Punjab, but who I am going to give someone ‘donation’? When I get a chance to extend a hand of help, I consider myself lucky.”

He further said, “For me, this is my service, I have a very small contribution. I pray that the natural disaster on my brothers and sisters in Punjab soon go away.

Akshay Kumar is Bollywood’s biggest Danveer
This is not the first time that Akshay Kumar has come forward in the time of crisis and helped. Over the years, he has continued financial help and supported in times of disaster and national requirement.

  • During the Kovid-19 epidemic, he donated Rs 25 crore to the PM-Care Fund, which was the largest contribution given by a Bollywood actor at that time.
  • He contributed by giving PPE kit and sanitizer to BMC of Mumbai.
  • He started the “Veer of Veer” initiative with the Government of India to assist the families of martyred soldiers and also contributed to the citizens to do the same.
  • In 2019, he promised to pay Rs 5 crore to the families of CRPF jawans who lost their lives in the Pulwama attack.
  • In 2018, he donated Rs 1 crore to the Chief Minister of Kerala disaster relief funds for the flood victims and each of the Veer Kosh of India.

These celebrities also extended help for Punjab flood victims
Along with Akshay, many other celebrities have also come forward to help flood affected families. Sonu Sood started a helpline and distributed the necessary items through his foundation. At the same time, Amy Virk pledged to rebuild the most affected 200 houses. Randeep Hooda is present at the ground level in Gurdaspur and is personally monitoring food and water distribution.

Diljit Dosanjh adopted ten flood affected villages of Gurdaspur and Amritsar and has helped them for food, medical aid and rehabilitation. Many others including Karan Aujla, Gurdas Mann, Babbu Mann, Ranjit Bawa, Satinder Sartaj and Kapil Sharma have also contributed through charity and ground efforts.
