A PIL has been filed in the Supreme Court to cancel the India-Pakistan match to be held in the Asia Cup 2025. This petition has been filed by four law students and Urvashi Jain is leading this group. Let us tell you that the India-Pak match is to be played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on 14 September in the T20 Asia Cup.

Advocates Sneha Rani, Abhishek Verma and Mohammad Anas Chaudhary argued that playing with Pakistan so soon after Pahalgam terror attack and operation vermilion hurts the dignity of the nation, as well as disrespect the sacrifices of Indian soldiers and people.

The petition said that, “Cricket cannot be kept above national interests, the lives of citizens and the sacrifice of army soldiers.” The petitioners have demanded the Supreme Court to intervene in the case. At the same time, he has also sought instructions to implement the National Sports Administration Act 2025 soon to regulate such decisions in future.

India-Pakistan match is called the most high-profile match of cricket, which remains in the discussion before the Asia Cup schedule arrives. There has been an uproar in the Indian Parliament about the cancellation of this match, but recently the Government of India had implemented a new policy, stating that Team India will be allowed to play with Pakistan in a multilateral tournament. It was also said that Team India will not play any bilateral series with Pakistan.

In their first match of Asia Cup 2025, the Indian team has trampled UAE by 9 wickets. Kuldeep Yadav took 4 wickets in this match and Shivam Dubey also shone with three wickets.
