The Supreme Court has sent the petition filed to the Patna High Court on the incidents of falling bridges in Bihar. The High Court will start hearing on this from 14 May. The petitioner has demanded to monitor the steps being taken for the security check of the bridges. During the construction, there has also been a demand to monitor the ongoing departmental inquiry against the officials in the case of the fall of 3 bridges. The petitioner demands that the Supreme Court direct the state governments to monitor the security check and monitor the ongoing investigation against the officials.
A petition has been filed in the court and a demand has been made to direct the Bihar government to audit the bridges. The petition said that for this, instruct the state government to form a high level expert committee, which should monitor the bridges and identify weak bridges and strengthen them by repairing them.
During the hearing, Chief Justice Sanjeev Khanna has directed the registry to transfer the case to the High Court within 4 weeks. At the counter given by the Bihar government, CJI Sanjeev Khanna said, ‘We know, we have read the first page of your counter, Bihar has this scheme, it is a scheme.’ He further said that the bench has read the reply of the state government and the Supreme Court is transferring the matter to the Patna High Court. He said that the details of the investigation are also being sent to the High Court, in which the state government has told what they are doing in this matter.
The petitioner said in the court that the bridges in Bihar are breaking and no one is inspecting them. He said that so far 300 bridges have fallen and the responsible people are suspended, but after a while they are called back again.
