India indigenously is engaged in developing the fifth generation stealth fighter Jet Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) for its Air Force. The Gas Turbine Research Establishment (GTRE) of the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) between India and France and the French Jet Engine Company Safran S. A. (Safran sa) talks were going on to approve the joint project of (SAFRAN SA). Meanwhile, there has been a big progress in this conversation. Under which it is being said that now the engine for the AMCA project will be developed in India only in India. Although the US company was going to prepare GE engine for the AMCA project, but now France of India France has been fully ready for this work.
9 prototypes of fighter jet engines will be ready in 12 years
This year, on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Independence Day, he called upon the ramparts of the Red Fort to develop the engine for the indigenously fighter jet. At the same time, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has also emphasized on the development of indigenous engine for indigenous fighter jets in India. According to Hindustan Times report, France’s Safran and India’s GTRE will jointly develop 9 prototypes of fighter jet engines in 12 years.
France Drdo Will do technology transfer
According to the report, Safran and GTRE will initially form a jet engine of 120 KN power capacity in the beginning and in 12 years this capacity will be increased to 140 KN power. All these fighter jet engines will be developed indigenously in India and for this, Safran will transfer 100 % technology to DRDO to develop fighter jet engines. However, there is another special thing in this that after being prepared indigenously, the intellectual property rights of these fighter jet engines will remain with India.
Negotiations have been going on with France for two years
France and DRDO have been in talks in the last two years for such an agreement on the engine of stealth fighter jet, but the government has now become more active about this conversation. In such a situation, it seems that it will soon be given a green signal from the top leadership regarding this agreement.
