Sushila Karki will become Nepal’s interim PM, today President will be sworn in

After the coup of the Gen-Z revolution in Nepal, it has now been agreed to make Sushila Karki an interim Prime Minister of Nepal. The President of Nepal will administer him oath on Friday (September 12, 2025) i.e. in a few hours today. According to the information, Sushila Karki can be sworn in till 8:45 pm.

Consent to dissolve the House of Representatives after discussion

The name of former Chief Justice Sushila Karki was approved in a conversation between ‘Jane Z’ group representatives, Army Chief and President Ramchandra Paudel on Friday (September 12, 2025), who led the anti -government protests. After a day -long discussion, it was agreed to dissolve the House of Representatives and it was agreed to appoint Karki as the PM of the Interim Government.

President Ramchandra Paudel told the top leaders of the major parties that he was going to decide to dissolve the House of Representatives and will immediately prepare to administer Sushila Karki as Prime Minister.

After taking oath as PM of Nepal’s caretaker government, former Chief Justice Sushila Karki will hold fresh elections in the country, fulfilling the demands of the agitating group. The youth -led Jane Z group proposed Karki’s name for the post of new Prime Minister. President Paudel Karki will be administered the oath of Nepal’s first woman Prime Minister.

KP Oli resigns from PM after violent protests in the country

On September 8 and 9, violent protests were organized by ‘Jane-Z’ against corruption against KP Sharma Oli-led Nepal government and ban on social media. During this time, after the death of many people in police action, hundreds of protesters entered his office demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Oli. After this, the next day he resigned from his post and after that the ban on social media in Nepal was lifted on the night of 8 September.
