Drishti IAS Physics Wallah Deal: The discussion of a business deal is in full swing on social media these days. It is being said that Edtech Unicorn Physics Wallah, which is famous for cheap coaching of competitive examinations like JEE and NEET, is now going to buy Drishti IAS, the coaching institute preparing UPSC. It is being said about this that this deal can be about Rs 2,500 crore, which is being considered a big step in the Test-Prap segment. However, the CEO of Drishti IAS has said a lot about what is the truth of this deal.
Why is this deal special?
According to a report by Financial Express, the IPO of Physics Wallah is coming and it will strengthen the Acquisition Company in the UPSC segment besides engineering and medical. Drishti IAS earned a revenue of 405 crores and a profit of 90 crores in FY24, making it attractive to Physics Wallah. This deal will also give Physics Wallah strength in the offline market, because the grip of Drishti IAS is strong in offline coaching.

According to the ET report, Drishti IAS earned a revenue of 405 crores in FY24, which is 20 percent more than the previous year. The company’s profit (PAT) was Rs 90 crore. Drishti IAS has also strengthened its digital platform, where more than 1.5 million students took advantage of online courses. The company has increased its reach in cities like Delhi, Noida, Lucknow, Prayagraj, Jaipur and Indore and plans to expand in 10 more cities next year.

What did CEO of Drishti IAS say?
Talking to IPO Central, CEO Vivek Tiwari of Drishti IAS said that there are reports of acquisition “rumors”. He said that no final decision has been taken on this yet. At the same time, Physicswallah has not issued any official statement on this matter so far.
