In fact, ED investigation revealed that many online betting platforms are spreading their business in India illegally. One of these is the ‘Vanxbate whose advertisements and publicity have been found to be associated with many celebrities. The investigating agency wants to understand to what extent the role of these stars has been in the promotion and publicity of these apps.

In this connection, the ED is questioning all the celebrities promoting this app. The ED last week questioned Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan in connection with the money laundering investigation against illegal online betting platform. Many platforms were used on these platforms for alleged pseudo advertisements and to collect funds from users.
It is being told that many people have invested money in it and they have suffered a lot of loss financially. Another cricketer Suresh Raina was also questioned by the agency last month. The ED is investigating the relationship with celebrities, any advertising fee earned and the method of communication between them with betting apps. The zonal agency also called the representatives of Google and Meta (Facebook) for questioning as part of the investigation.
