There is good news for the students of Delhi, youth preparing for competitive exams and those who are fond of reading books. In fact, in Delhi, NDMC has started the state-of-the-art Jaiprakash Narayan Public Library on Udyan Marg, which was inaugurated by Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah.

What will you find in the library?

This library is built in about 2265 square meters and about 200 people can sit here and study together. More than 35 thousand books, research magazines and reference books are available here. Apart from this, the facility to read more than 1 crore e-books through e-library will also be available in this library.

The library has facilities like modern reading area, research centre, separate kids zone, multipurpose auditorium, free Wi-Fi and RFID based book management system. It will also be linked to the National Digital Library of India.

Home Minister said this

Amit Shah said that the future of a country is not decided by agriculture, market or industry, but by the youth who come to study in its libraries. He said that reading books increases the ability to think and understand, hence every youth should definitely join some library.

Referring to his childhood, he said that the library of his city had a deep impact on his life. While reading story books in his childhood, his interest reached Vedas and Upanishads. He said that one should think before speaking and read before thinking, because correct thinking comes only from books.

He appealed to the Delhi government to connect all the public libraries of the capital and also connect them to schools. He asked the staff of Jaiprakash Narayan Library to motivate the students of nearby schools to come to the library, so that the habit of reading increases among the youth.

Great facility for students

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that this library is a big gift for the youth and students of Delhi. Especially students preparing for UPSC and other competitive examinations will get better environment and modern facilities here. He expressed hope that this library will help the youth to fulfill their dreams.

NDMC Chairman Keshav Chandra said that this library has been built in the memory of Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan. Meanwhile, NDMC Vice President Kuljeet Singh Chahal said that this library will become a big center of studies, research and new thinking for the youth in the coming times.
