South’s 4 film industries made Bollywood equal in this matter, big challenge for Hindi cinema

In 2025, these Bollywood films surprised everyone with worldwide their earnings. Both ‘Chhava’ and ‘Saira’ films filled the makers’ pockets with their bumper earnings. While Vicky Kaushal’s film collected 601.54 crores in the Indian box office, Ahaan Pandey and Anit Padda’s film became the second blockbuster of Bollywood by doing 329.2 crores business.

After this, Mohanlal’s film ‘Thaudaram’ collected 121.2 crores at the box office and won the title of Milollywood’s first blockbuster film. So on the other hand, Kalyani Priyadarshan recorded his name in the second place of this list by earning 240 crores worldwide through ‘Loca Chapter 1: Chandra’.

But the Telugu film industry is not far behind in this race to become a blockbuster. The film ‘Sankrantik Vastunam’, made with a focus of 50 crores, has grossed Rs 186.7 crore at the box office according to Sixelk. With this, this movie became the first blockbuster of Telugu film industry

So on the other hand, ‘Mad Square’ collected a box office of 50.12 crores and recorded its name in the second place in the list of Tollywood blockbuster films. The specialty of this film was another that it was made on a very low budget but it made its makers tremendous profits.

The South Film Industry’s Kollywood i.e. Tamil industry has also given a contest to everyone. Pradeep Ranganathan and Anupama Parameswaram’s film ‘Dragon’ has also earned a bumper. The film collected 101.34 crores and achieved the first position in the list of Tamil blockbuster.

‘Tourist Family’ has become the second blockbuster film in the Tamil industry by collecting 60.75 crores. According to the Times of India, the budget of the film was only 7 crores. With its powerful story and characters, the film has left its indelible impression in the minds of the audience.

Now, after Kannada film industry, here too two low-budget films became a blockbuster without any promotion and noise. While Mahavatar Narasimha recorded his name on the first number of this list, Su from Soi got second place.

Now this is the biggest challenge for Bollywood films that like Hindi films, all four film industries of South have given 2-2 blockbusters this year. That is, every industry has equaled Bollywood. 9 months of 2025 have been completed and now it will be interesting to see whether the next blockbuster comes from Bollywood or from South.
