This is the reason that umpiring is considered a respectable and responsible profession.

How much salary does the umpires get?

Now the question arises that after all the umpires earn for this work. If umpiring is done at the international level, then its earnings are very good. In a ODI match of ICC, the umpire gets up to about 2 lakh 25 thousand rupees. At the same time, this fee is more than Rs 3 lakh in Test matches. Apart from this, different allowances are also given to them.

If the umpire contracts with the ICC, then the annual earnings can reach from Rs 60 lakh to Rs 1 to Rs 1.5 crore. Talking about domestic matches in India, the BCCI pays up to about 40 thousand rupees per match to the umpires. That is, as the experience and level increases, earnings also increase manifold.

How can a cricket umpire become?

To become a cricket umpire, you are not necessarily a good player yourself. But you should have complete knowledge of the rules of cricket. Along with this, there should be a sharp mind, the ability to take the right decision immediately and the art of cleaning. The umpire has to stand in the field for a long time, so it is also very important to be physically fit.

To become an umpire, first of all, you have to pass examinations at the state level. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) conducts these examinations every year. In these, information about the cricket rules of the candidates is investigated. After passing the written examination, candidates are trained on the field. After this, he gets an opportunity to umpiring in the domestic tournament.
