Chhattisgarh: roof fell in steel plant in Raipur, 6 laborers died, CM Sai expressed grief


Six people have died and six others have been injured in an accident in a steelplant located in Raipur district of Chhattisgarh. The police gave this information on Friday (26 September). Superintendent of Police of Raipur district Lal Umaid Singh said that six people were killed and six people have been sent to the hospital in the accident at Godavari Steel Plant located in Silatra area on the outskirts of the city. There is a possibility of scorching dozens of people. About 200 people were present at the time of the accident.

SP Ummed Singh said that today when the employees and workers of the plant were working in the plant, a heavy structure like the roof fell on the people working there in which 6 people died and 6 others were injured. He said that after receiving information about the accident, the police team was sent to the spot.

After this, the injured and bodies were sent to the hospital. Senior police officers of the district are also present on the spot. He told that some more people are feared buried in the scene. Relief and rescue operations are going on at the scene.

CM Sai expressed grief over the accident

On this incident, CM Vishnu Dev Sai said, “I have also received information. It is sad that the workers have died. They are taking more information about it.”

Congress demands an investigation into the accident

Congress leader and Chhattisgarh Leader of Opposition Charan Das Mahant said, “The news of the death of 06 people in the accident in the Raipur Godavari steel accident is very sad. My condolences are with the families of the dead. God should give them the strength to endure this unbearable pain. Also, all the people injured in the accident, I wish to get well soon.
