Air taxi can fly up to a height of 3,000 meters
An air taxi called EH216-S developed by EHANG is a two-seater electric drone, which has 16 propellers. This advance machine can fly up to a height of 3,000 meters and its maximum speed is 100 km/h.
Its testing video is becoming increasingly viral on social media, in which this pilot’s taxi was seen doing takeoff and landing. According to the company, this air taxi is specially made for airport transfer, tourism and urban public transport.
China’s strategy behind the decision
It is believed that China’s strategy behind this decision is to promote a low-altitude economy. China believes that many areas associated with innovation in the region, such as quantum computing, Artificial Intelligence (AI), 6G network, will jointly give new directions to the country’s economic growth.
When will air taxi come to India?
Research on infrastructure, regulation and technology is going on in India. Some startups and tech companies are working on hybrid electric and autonomous flying technology, but it will take time to start the business at a commercial level. Experts believe that as soon as the aviation policy and technological framework in India are strong, this technology can also enter India.
