The India-Pakistan Asia Cup dispute is taking a new turn every day. After the first ‘Handshek controversy’ and the final match, Asian Cricket Council Chairman Mohsin Mohsin Naqvi took the Asia Cup Trophy with him. Cricket celebrities have supported Team India, but former cricketer Syed Kirmani has blamed India for moral fall in modern cricket.
According to news agency ANI, Syed Kirmani said that he is disappointed with the lack of sportsmanship. He said that no gentleness is seen in the game of cricket.
Syed Kirmani said, “Very rude and egoistic expressions were seen on the field. I feel very ashamed to listen to my friends living abroad. He said that our time used to be different, we used to play gentleman with nature. What happened in the Asia Cup is very bad. These are his words.”
Spoken at the rivalry of India-Pakistan
Syed Kirmani also gave a statement on the subject what kind of Indo-Pakistan rivalry used to be in his days. He said, “In those days, there used to be brotherhood between the players of India and Pakistan as a cricketer. Pakistani players used to come to India, we used to go there, there was a sense of respect, love. The parties used to meet the families of the players, but now there is nothing left. Comparing our time and this period, the present time is very disappointed to me.”
Syed Kirmani was a wicketkeeper batsman and represented the Indian cricket team from 1976-1986. He played 88 Tests in his international career, with 2759 runs in his name. At the same time, he scored only 373 runs in 49 ODIs.
