Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has expressed deep concern over the recently created situation in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) and appealed to the citizens to remain peaceful. The Prime Minister’s Office informed through a tweet that Shahbaz Sharif said that peaceful demonstrations are constitutional and democratic rights of every citizen, but the protesters should avoid damaging the public system.

The Prime Minister gave these instructions to the agencies

The Prime Minister instructed the law enforcement agencies to treat the protesters with restraint and patience. He clarified that honor of public emotions should be ensured and any unnecessary rigidity should be avoided. The Prime Minister assured that the government is always ready to solve the problems of its Kashmiri brothers.

Shahbaz Sharif expressed grief

Shahbaz Sharif expressed concern over the unfortunate incidents during the protest and ordered a transparent inquiry into the case. He also issued instructions to provide immediate assistance to the affected families. In addition, the government has expanded the contact committee to find a peaceful solution to the problem. The committee consists of senator Rana Sanaullah, Union Minister Sardar Yusuf and Ahsan Iqbal, former PoK President Masood Khan, and Qamar Zaman Kaira.

The Prime Minister instructed the committee to immediately leave for Muzaffarabad and find a permanent solution. He appealed to the members and leadership of the action committee to cooperate with the government’s contact committee. The committee will send its recommendations and proposed solutions directly to the Prime Minister’s Office so that action can be taken immediately.

Shahbaz Sharif also announced that he would monitor the contact process himself when he returns to the country. His move is being considered as part of efforts to maintain peace in PoK, communicate with protesters and to give relief to the affected families.
