This is the second time that Vaibhav has become the victim of a golden duck in the Youth Test, before this he was out for zero on the first ball against England in the same year.

During the Australia tour, 3 Youth ODI and 2 Youth Test matches were played between India Under-19 and Australia Under-19 team. India won all 5 matches. After winning all three Youth ODI matches, India defeated Australia in both Youth Tests. In the final test, Australia’s first innings was reduced to 135 runs. India had scored 171 runs in the first innings.
After taking a lead of 36 runs in the first innings, the Indian team restricted Australia to 116 runs in the second innings. Indian Under-19 team had to score only 81 runs to win, chasing which Vaibhav Suryavanshi was out in the very first over. After this, captain Ayush Mhatre returned to the pavilion after scoring 13 runs. Vedant Trivedi scored 33 not out and Rahul Kumar scored 13 not out, India won the match by 7 wickets.
