IT- Reliance shares closed the market with a sharp rise of 398 points, know how the market will be tomorrow.


Stock Market News: The local stock market returned strong on Thursday, October 9, 2025, the fourth trading day of the week. BSE Sensex closed 398 points higher, while NSE Nifty registered a gain of 136 points. The market got support from the buying by foreign institutional investors (FII) and the rise in shares of IT companies and Reliance Industries.

The 30-share BSE Sensex closed at 82,172.10, up 398.44 points (0.49%). During trading it had increased by 474.07 points (0.57%) to reach 82,247.73 points. At the same time, NSE Nifty closed at 25,181.80 points with a gain of 135.65 points (0.54%).

Rise in shares of IT companies

Buying was seen in shares of HCL Tech, TCS, Infosys and Tech Mahindra before the quarterly results. Among the major Sensex companies, Tata Steel, UltraTech Cement, Bharat Electronics, Sun Pharma and TCS were among the gainers. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the country’s largest IT services company, reported a 1.39% rise in consolidated net profit at ₹12,075 crore in the July-September quarter of the current financial year, while revenue increased by 2.39% at ₹65,799 crore.

Among the companies included in Sensex, Tata Steel shares had the highest rise of 2.65%. The company recorded a growth of 7% in domestic crude steel production. Infosys gained nearly 1%, while Reliance Industries gained 0.78%. On the other hand, shares of Axis Bank, Titan, Maruti and Tata Motors remained in loss.

Experts’ opinion

According to Bajaj Broking Research, “Domestic indices made a strong comeback on Thursday and reversed the previous session’s decline. Nifty-50 ended the trade on a strong note and closed just short of the 25,200 level on the back of sustained buying across key sectors.”

Vinod Nair, Head of Research, Geojit Investments Limited, said, “The domestic market remained bullish amid the second quarter results. The metal index outperformed due to increase in base metal prices.” Midcap and smallcap index also registered a rise of 0.75% in BSE midcap index and 0.18% in smallcap index. 2,099 shares listed on BSE were in gain, while 2,080 declined and 171 shares remained unchanged.

Foreign and global market trends

According to stock market data, FIIs bought shares worth ₹81.28 crore on Wednesday. In Asian markets, Japan’s Nikkei and China’s Shanghai Composite remained in profit, while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng closed in loss. A mixed trend was seen in European markets. Global oil benchmark Brent crude fell 0.23% to $66.08 per barrel. On Wednesday, a fall of 153.09 points was recorded in Sensex and a weakness of 62.15 points in Nifty.
