Bill Gates on Artificial Intelligence: The impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is already visible on the companies in the IT sector. Companies are rapidly firing people and this is being called restructuring of management. Thousands more jobs are at risk in the coming times. Not only common people like you and me, even Bill Gates is troubled by this rapidly changing era.
Speaking to CNN, the Microsoft co-founder said that he is surprised by how fast AI is progressing. According to a report in Daily Galaxy, he realizes this several times a day and then finds himself surrounded by questions. This statement of Bill Gates has now increased the concerns in the technology sector.
Amazon CEO also warned
Andy Jassy, CEO of e-commerce platform Amazon, also says that as AI starts taking over the coding and support work, people in the corporate team will gradually be reduced. Goldman Sachs also estimates that automation will replace 300 million full-time jobs worldwide in the coming time – especially on jobs like data entry or teleselling.
Experts are divided on when AI will start becoming equal to humans. Some say that this will happen within two years, while others believe that it will take another ten years. However, most experts believe that we are approaching a ‘tipping point’.
These 3 professions will not be affected by AI
Bill Gates says that in the future, the work of biologists will remain safe from the impact of AI – at least for some time. Although AI can perform genome analysis and rapidly identify disease patterns, it still requires human intelligence.
Bill Gates believes that AI cannot even handle the task of funding. Along with this, AI also cannot replace energy experts because this sector is very complex and it cannot be run on the basis of AI. Bill Gates says that AI is still in its initial stages. This will emerge in a few years. In such a situation, its training can be taken now, there is plenty of time for it. However, younger employees are feeling the pressure.
