According to the holiday list of the Reserve Bank of India, banks will remain closed for several days between July 20 and July 26, 2026 due to festivals and weekly holidays in different states of the country. When will banks remain closed between 20th and 26th July?
- July 20 (Monday) – Banks will remain open in most states on this day. There is no bank holiday.
- July 21 (Tuesday) – There may be a bank holiday in some states due to local festivals. Well the bank is not going to remain closed.
- 22 July (Wednesday) – Banks will remain closed in Agartala (Tripura) on the occasion of Kharchi Puja.
- 23 July (Thursday) – Banks will remain open on Thursday.
- July 24 (Friday) – Banks may remain closed in some states due to local festivals.
- 25th July (Saturday) – This is the fourth Saturday of the month and as per RBI rules, banks will remain closed across the country.
- 26th July (Sunday) – 26th is Sunday and hence all bank branches across the country will remain closed.

Why are bank holidays different in different states?
RBI releases bank holiday calendar every year. This includes national holidays, religious festivals, regional festivals and holidays declared by state governments. Therefore, banks in one state may be closed, while in another state banks remain normally open.
Will online banking services remain operational?
Despite bank branches remaining closed, UPI, internet banking, mobile banking and ATM services will operate normally. Customers will be able to use online money transfer, bill payment and other digital banking services.
