The West Bengal government seems to be under attack from all sides regarding the case of a 23-year-old MBBS student who was gang-raped near the Medical College in Durgapur, West Bengal. BJP is attacking Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee regarding her statement.
According to the report of NDTV, the complaint lodged by the victim’s father has become the basis of the FIR in this case. The complaint said that the sexual assault took place around 8 pm when the victim had gone out with a college friend.
Earlier, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee tried to put the responsibility of security of students on private colleges and raised questions as to how this student, originally from Odisha, left the campus late at night.

Mamta Banerjee said that she was studying in a private medical college. Whose responsibility is it? How did she come out at 12:30 in the night? He said private medical colleges should take care of their students and the “night culture”. Apart from this, Mamata Banerjee said that they should not be allowed to come out, they will have to protect themselves because this is a forested area.

BJP MLA Agnimitra Paul said on Mamata Banerjee’s statement that the Chief Minister is lying. The student had gone out to buy food at 8 pm. He raised the question whether there is a Taliban government under the leadership of Mamata Banerjee in West Bengal like Afghanistan. Mamta Banerjee wants to say that women in West Bengal will not go out after midnight. People will not go to office and doctors will not go to hospital. Are you saying that if we go out after midnight we will be raped?
