32-year-old Avintan, who was released after spending 738 days in the tunnels of Hamas, also narrated his ordeal. He never encountered any other hostage during his captivity by Hamas.
Avintan was kidnapped with his girlfriend
Awintan said that during his captivity by Hamas, he had to starve for a long time and his weight had reduced by 40 percent. Let us tell you that during Hamas attack on Israel, Avintan was kidnapped along with his 27-year-old girlfriend Noa Argamani from the Nova Music Festival. The two were separated soon after they were kidnapped.
After release, Avintan first expressed his desire to meet his girlfriend Noa. Let us tell you that Noah was freed by Hamas during the first release in June 2024. Referring to the dark terrorist tunnels spread in Gaza after his release, Awintan said that he was alone in those tunnels, he did not know anything about the outside world.
‘There was no information about what happened in 25 months’
Avintan said that he had no knowledge of what happened in the 25 months since he was taken hostage. He didn’t even know what happened to his girlfriend Noa. After the release, Avintan was told that Noah had been released safely a year ago.
Hamas members used to speak in Hebrew
According to Channel 12 report, Elkana Bohbot, another hostage brought back from Gaza, said that he was kept chained in a tunnel for most of the time in Hamas captivity. He also claimed that he was able to take bath only once during his imprisonment. However, he was aware of some events happening in Israel because Hamas members spoke to him in Hebrew.
