After the seat distribution in NDA regarding Bihar Assembly elections (2025), the first list was released by JDU on Wednesday (October 15, 2025). In the first list, 57 seats and the candidates from there were announced. Of the 57 candidates, four are women.
In this first list released by Nitish Kumar’s party JDU, Kavita Saha has been made the candidate from Sinheshwar and Komal Singh has been made the candidate from Gaighat. Let us tell you that Komal Singh is the daughter of LJP (R) MP from Gaighat seat, Veena Devi. Komal Singh’s father Dinesh Singh is MLC from JDU. There was discussion that she would be a candidate from LJP (Ram Vilas), but when this seat went to JDU’s account, she has been made a candidate from there.
Talking about Komal Singh, she had contested elections from Gaighat seat in 2020 on LJP ticket. Had stood third. RJD’s Niranjan Rai had won from this seat. JDU was at second place. Maheshwar Prasad Yadav had contested the elections from JDU.

Ashwamedh Devi had lost in 2020
On the other hand, the party has given ticket to Ashwamedh Devi from Samastipur. Apart from these, Raveena Kushwaha has been made the candidate from Vibhutipur. Talking about Samastipur seat, in the 2020 assembly elections, Ashwamedh Devi had got the ticket from JDU but lost. In 2020, RJD’s Akhtarul Islam Shaheen had won from this seat. He got 68,507 votes. Ashwamedh Devi had received only 63,793 votes. She has been an MP from JDU.
On the other hand, if we talk about Raveena Kushwaha, her husband Ram Balak Singh has been an MLA from JDU. 2020 Ram Balak fought from JDU but lost. CPM’s Ajay Kumar had won from this seat. Now the wife is in the election field.
