At the Gaza summit held in Egypt, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif almost turned the stage into a praise meeting for Donald Trump. He described Trump as a ‘peace loving person’ and said that he saved the lives of millions of people by stopping the India-Pakistan war. Sharif also said that he would nominate Trump again for the Nobel Peace Prize. To this Trump replied smilingly, ‘Wow! I didn’t expect this.
Strong reaction received on social media
While Trump enjoyed the praise, Sharif was heavily criticized on social media. Many users called it shameful for Pakistan. Pakistani politician and historian Ammar Ali Jan wrote on
Shehbaz Sharif’s constant and unnecessary flattery of Donald Trump is a source of embarrassment for Pakistanis across the world. https://t.co/012Fp2QvOX

Columnist S.L. Kanthan also sarcastically wrote, ‘Whenever Trump needs his shoes shined, he calls the ‘little Prime Minister’ of Pakistan. Such a shameful scene has never been seen before in geo-politics.
Whenever Trump wants his shoes shined like never before, he invites Pakistan’s tiny Prime Minister.
Have never seen so much cringe in geopolitics.

Reiterated confidence in Trump’s role
Addressing world leaders in Sharm al-Sheikh on Monday, Sharif reiterated that Trump had played an important role in stopping the India-Pakistan conflict. In his five-minute speech, he also praised Trump’s efforts to achieve an Israel-Hamas ceasefire several times. Sharif said, ‘Today is one of the greatest days in modern history, because peace has been achieved under the leadership of President Trump. He is truly a man of peace. He further said that if Trump had not been there, the war between India and Pakistan would have escalated so much that no one would have survived.
Nobel Prize Recommendation
Sharif said Pakistan has nominated Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of his “marvelous contribution to promoting peace”. He said, ‘This is the smallest step from our side to honor him. He is indeed a true ambassador of peace.
