3 Bahubali, 5 ministers, not a single Muslim… JDU released the first list of 57 candidates. big things


Janata Dal United (JDU) has released its first list of 57 candidates for Bihar Assembly elections 2025. JDU has tried to include all castes in this list. The thing to note is that there is not a single Muslim candidate’s name in this list of JDU, whereas four women have been given tickets.

Focus on Luv-Kush voters

JDU has given ticket to Kavita Saha from Madhepura, Komal Singh from Gaighat, Ashwamedh Devi from Samastipur and Raveena Kushwaha from Vibhutipur. There is not a single Muslim candidate’s name in this list, whereas an attempt has been made to cultivate Luv-Kush (Kurmi and Koeri). There are more than 21 candidates coming from Koeri and Kurmi communities in this list. The party has once again made Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary its candidate from Sarairanjan. Minister Shravan Kumar has been fielded from Nalanda and Minister Sunil Kumar has been fielded from Bhore.

Name of 3 Bahubali, 5 ministers in the list

JDU has placed bets on 27 new faces in the first list, while 11 candidates are those who had lost the last election. Powerful leaders have also been given place in this list of JDU. According to the list released by the party, tickets have been given to Anant Singh from Mokama, Dhumal Singh from Ekma and Amarendra Pandey from Kuchaikot. All three are considered influential in their respective fields. Anant Singh had filed his nomination on Tuesday (14 October 2025) itself.

JDU has also made five ministers of the present government, Maheshwar Hazari, Ratnesh Sada, Sunil Kumar, Vijay Chaudhary and Shravan Kumar as its candidates. The party has also given ticket to Deputy Speaker of Bihar Assembly Narendra Narayan Yadav.

Candidates fielded on five seats claimed by Chirag

Nitish Kumar’s party has given a second chance to 18 sitting MLAs, while the tickets of two MLAs have been canceled. JDU has also declared its candidates for five seats claimed by Chirag Paswan – Sonbarsa, Alauli, Rajgir, Ekma and Morwa. Rejecting the speculations that the ticket of Minister Maheshwar Hazari will be cut, the party has again made him a candidate from Kalyanpur.

Muslim faces were fielded on these three seats in the last elections

Out of the 57 seats for which JDU has declared candidates, there were three Muslim candidates in the 2020 assembly elections. In the last elections, Anjum Ara was made the candidate from Dumraon seat, this time Rahul Singh has been given the ticket from there. Faraz Fatmi was the candidate for Darbhanga Rural seat in the 2020 elections, but this time Ishwar Mandal has been given the ticket from there. Mohammad Jamal was given ticket in the last election from Kanti seat, but this time Ajit Kumar has been made the candidate.
