Munir Army came to its knees! PAK appealed to Taliban, Afghanistan announced ceasefire

The ongoing border skirmish between Afghanistan and Pakistan has now stopped. The Taliban regime of Afghanistan says that on the demand and insistence of Pakistan, Afghanistan announced the implementation of a temporary ceasefire between the two countries for 48 hours. This step was taken after the clashes continued on the border for the last one week and dozens of deaths on both sides. These incidents further strained the already delicate relations between the two countries.

Zabiullah Mujahid gave information on social media
Afghan government spokesperson Zabiullah Mujahid wrote on Twitter that Afghanistan announced ceasefire on Pakistan’s request. It is being told that the ceasefire will come into effect from 6:30 pm Indian time. All Afghan security forces have been instructed not to carry out any attacks or border violations during the implementation of the ceasefire.

Pakistan also made a similar claim
Pakistan’s Foreign Office (FO) said that this ceasefire was decided with the mutual consent of both the parties and at the request of the Afghan Taliban government. The FO said that during this period both sides will try to find positive solutions to complex but solvable issues through dialogue.

Border tension and precise air strikes
This announcement came at a time when Pakistan had carried out precise air strikes on important Taliban positions in Kandahar and Kabul. According to the Pakistan Army’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the strikes were carried out in response to attacks from Afghan territory, in which 23 Pakistani soldiers were killed and 29 injured.

Pakistan attacks Taliban positions in Kandahar and Kabul
According to PTV News, Pakistan Army destroyed Taliban’s battalion headquarters numbers 4 and 8 and border brigade numbers 5 and 6 in Kandahar. “All these targets were carefully selected, kept away from civilians and successfully hit the targets,” the report said. Later, Kabul also confirmed these attacks.

Tension increased after border clashes
This action of Pakistan took place amid continuous clashes on the border since last weekend. According to ISPR, Taliban attacked four places in Spin Boldak area on Wednesday, which were stopped by Pakistan Army. During this period about 15–20 attackers were killed.

What did Afghanistan say on the attacks?
The Afghan side described the attacks as ‘retaliatory’ and accused Pakistan of carrying out air strikes on its territory. Pakistan has repeatedly alleged that terrorist groups use Afghanistan to carry out attacks in Pakistan, but Kabul rejects these allegations. Kabul said that their territory is not being used for such activities.
