At the same time, the court had accepted that such messages can hurt the honor of any girl or married women.

If any person sends messages to unknown girls after 11 pm at night, then a criminal case can be registered against him under many sections. If a man sends flirting messages to women, then a case can be registered against him for insulting the modesty of a woman under Section 79 of BNS. In this case earlier punishment was given under section 509 of IPC. Apart from this, according to Section 67 and 67A of the IT Act, sending obscene messages or photos to any girl after 11 pm at night will be considered a sexual harassment. Due to this, harshest punishment and fine can also be imposed on the accused.
