All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) leader Waris Pathan expressed displeasure over the growing controversy after the video of Muslim women offering Namaz in Maharashtra’s Shaniwar Wada surfaced. He said that it is wrong from the religious point of view for a woman to offer her Friday prayers in three minutes and then invalidate that act after the time has passed. Waris cited religion and constitutional rights regarding Friday prayers.

Waris Pathan said, “The Constitution of India gives every citizen the right to practice and propagate his religion under Article 25.” Raising the question, he said that when the Constitution gives such clear freedom, then to what extent is it appropriate to question or restrict someone’s religious conduct.

Waris Pathan spoke on religion and constitutional rights

Speaking to IANS media agency, AIMIM leader Waris Pathan said, if a Muslim woman offers 3-minute Namaz on Friday when it is time, then what mountain will break. The Constitution allows in Article 25 that a person has the right to practice things of his own religion. If the Namaz has been offered then what is the point in it?

Waris Pathan further said, our Hindu brothers and sisters play Garba in trains, Garba is played at the airport. We never expressed any objection on this, everyone is celebrating their own festival.

Waris Pathan spoke about purification

Regarding the people who were opposing the Namaz, he said that people are doing purification. If you want to purify, then purify your mentality, purify your mind and purify your heart, which is filled with hatred.

The AIMIM leader further said in the conversation, this is the sheer murder of secularism and the Ganga-Jamuni culture of the country by the people of BJP. Ever since these people have come, they have only been spreading hatred. In which direction will these people take the country?

He finally said that all this should not happen. If someone is offering namaz. You people do all this and no one has any objection to it, so why is this being done. Let us tell you that the controversy regarding women offering namaz is heating up in Shaniwar Wada of Maharashtra.
