IIT Delhi has started the admission process for PhD and MS (Research) programs for the second session of the year 2025-26. For this, you can fill the online form sitting at home. You just have to apply online by visiting the official website of the institute, home.iitd.ac.in/pg-admissions.php.
How many places can research be done?
IIT Delhi is the top engineering college in the country. Every student dreams of studying here. Now there is an opportunity to do PhD in 15 departments, 9 centers and 5 schools. This means that you can research at a total of 29 different places. If you are fond of making machines then you can do research in Applied Mechanics, if you are fond of making chemicals then you can do Chemical Engineering, if you like coding then you can do research in Computer Science and Engineering. Apart from this, there are also subjects like Design, Energy Science, Management Studies, Textile and Fiber Engineering.

MS (Research) program is in 19 different subjects. This course is a little short, but gives full opportunity for research. It has fields like Computer Science, Machine Intelligence and Data Science, Healthcare Technology, Automotive Research and Tribology. If you want to make a career in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science or Health Technology then these courses are perfect for you.
How can I do this course?
The best thing is that you can take admission in both full time and part time. If you are working and want to study along with it, then you can choose part time. Apart from this, full time people also get stipend.
How many marks are required?
If you belong to General, OBC or EWS category, then for admission you should have at least 60% marks or 6.00 CGPA in graduation or post graduation. If you belong to SC, ST or disabled category, then only 55% marks or 5.50 CGPA is required.
