Abhishek Sharma created history, made a world record of hitting 100 sixes in the fewest balls, made a place in the special club of Rohit-Virat.

Abhishek Sharma displayed brilliant batting in the first T20 match played between India and England at Chester-le-Street on 1 July. There was pressure on the Indian team to make a comeback after losing the series against Ireland, but Abhishek batted fearlessly and scored 59 runs in just 24 balls. In this explosive innings he hit 4 sixes. As soon as he hit the third six in the fourth over of the innings, he completed 100 sixes in T20 International cricket in just 785 balls and made a new world record in his name.

Left behind many veterans including Suryakumar Yadav

Abhishek Sharma completed 100 T20 International sixes in 785 balls and broke the record of West Indies’ Evin Lewis, who had achieved this feat in 789 balls. In this list, New Zealand’s Finn Allen is third with 871 balls, Australia’s Tim David is fourth with 931 balls and former New Zealand batsman Colin Munro is fifth with 963 balls. India’s Suryakumar Yadav had completed 100 sixes in 1007 balls and now he has reached sixth place in this list.

Entry into the club of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli

Abhishek Sharma has also become the fifth Indian batsman to hit 100 sixes in T20 international cricket. Before him, Rohit Sharma (205), Suryakumar Yadav (179), Hardik Pandya (126) and Virat Kohli (124) have achieved this feat. Seeing the aggressive style in which Abhishek is batting, he is also being considered as the new ‘Sixer King’ of Indian cricket.
