Air India Plane Crash: Ahmedabad completes one year of Air India plane crash, the investigating team said – ‘A lot of progress has been made in the case’

Today has completed one year since the crash of Air India Airlines flight AI-171 in Ahmedabad, Gujarat on June 12, 2025. In this plane crash, 241 out of 242 passengers present in the plane and 19 people present on the ground i.e. a total of 260 people lost their lives. The investigation is still going on even after a year to find out the exact reason behind this accident.

At the same time, the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB), the agency investigating the accident, has expressed grief towards the families of those killed in the accident on the completion of one year of the incident and said that the investigation in the matter is still going on.

What information did AAIB give regarding the investigation?

The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) has officially issued a statement on the completion of one year of the accident. In the statement, AAIB said that the investigation is being conducted in accordance with the rules and international standards. The first report of the accident came on July 12, 2025, in which only the facts were stated.

The agency said that in the last one year, the investigation team has looked at every aspect in detail. Considerable progress has been made in examining aircraft systems, flight recorder data, engine parts and maintenance records. Experts from across the country and abroad are also helping in this work.

When will the final investigation report of the accident come?

According to the statement, all the evidence is currently being analyzed. Further technical investigation will be conducted where necessary, so that every outcome is based on solid evidence. However, the agency has not given any date on when the final report will come. AAIB has only said that the final report will be released only after the entire investigation work and review required under international rules is completed.

Do not make any speculations until the investigation is completed – AAIB

Appealing to the people and media, AAIB said that the purpose of the investigation is not to blame anyone, but to make air travel more safe. Therefore, speculations should not be made until the investigation is completed. In the end, the agency assured that every aspect of the accident will be investigated with utmost care, so that everyone can have confidence in the results.
