Former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and National President of Samajwadi Party, Akhilesh Yadav has posted an X regarding the Delimitation Bill, in which he has made three demands. There is speculation from this post of Akhilesh Yadav that if his demands are met then he can also support this bill. It is believed that the government can present this bill in the monsoon session.
In fact, Akhilesh Yadav posted on the social media platform

The demand is that:
– Seats should also be increased in the Upper House through the Delimitation Bill;
– Proper representation of women from backward communities and minority Muslim women included in the PDA should be ensured through the Women’s Reservation Bill;
– Women’s reservation will be implemented only in the 2027 Uttar Pradesh assembly elections. pic.twitter.com/v7vhcsf3KX— Akhilesh Yadav (@yadavakhilesh) July 7, 2026
Now political experts believe that if the BJP government fulfills these three demands, then the opposition will also agree to this bill and the path of delimitation will become easier. In fact, the Central Government is preparing to push the Delimitation Bill for redefinition of Lok Sabha seats along with the Women’s Reservation Bill in the upcoming monsoon session. If this bill is passed then the total seats of Lok Sabha may increase from 543 to 850. However, the central government does not have two-thirds majority in both the houses to pass this bill. Therefore, the government is also expecting the support of opposition parties. The government will have to expect that the opposition party will walk out of the House during voting or will not take part in the voting.
