Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on Indonesia tour. He reached Prambanan Temple with President Subianto on Wednesday (July 8). During this, PM Modi said that we always get a chance to connect with Mahadev somewhere. He also said that this is the second largest Shiva temple in the world in South East Asia. Will come here again after renovation.
Prime Minister Modi said, ‘It is my good fortune that I always get an opportunity to connect with Lord Shiva in some form or the other. I was born in Vadnagar. Hatkeshwar Mahadev is a major pilgrimage site there. Somnath, the first of the twelve Jyotirlingas, is situated on the soil of Gujarat and I was directly responsible for its development. My political constituency is Kashi, where Kashi Vishwanath Mahadev has continuously showered his blessings on me.
This temple in Indonesia is more than 1000 years old
He said, ‘Whether it is the reconstruction of Kedarnath Dham, the renovation of Mahakal temple in Ujjain, or coming here today to start the work of restoration and renovation of about 1000-1200 years old heritage site associated with Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh, I have been fortunate to get all these opportunities. I consider myself extremely lucky. This is the world’s second largest Shiva temple in South East Asia. Will come here again after reconstruction.
PM Modi said, ‘Today when I came to this holy temple in Indonesia, I saw that Mahamrityunjay was being chanted here, everyone was chanting Om Namah Shivay, this in itself was heart touching. I see that now we are going to do reconstruction work in this grand temple complex of Yogyakarta and it is a UNESCO World Heritage. I have full confidence that after today, travelers from India will definitely come here.
