Asha Tai was a part of our family. It is difficult to express our grief in words today. One moment the heart becomes silent, and the next moment it is lost in the countless tunes that she gifted to all of us. It seems as if time has stopped. Yet, through her songs, she will always be immortal. Tai, our life filled with love, dignity. And thank you Asha Tai for filling us with memorable music, we will miss you so much that it cannot be expressed in words.”
Sachin and Asha’s emotional bond
The relationship between Sachin Tendulkar and Asha Bhosle was based on deep mutual respect and family affection. Asha Bhosle often said in interviews that Sachin’s humility and values impressed her a lot. She treated him like a family member rather than a celebrity guest. Interestingly, Sachin was named after veteran musician Sachin Dev Burman (his father’s favorite artist), who was also Asha Bhosle’s father-in-law.
