Bangladesh has taken a 2-0 lead in the 3-match series by defeating Australia in the second consecutive ODI. Bangladesh has won the ODI series against Australia for the first time. In the match played on Thursday at Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Dhaka, Australia won the toss and decided to bat first.
Australia did not have a good start. The team had lost 3 wickets without any score. Australia’s Marnus Labuschagne 55 not out and Xavier Bartlett 52 were struggling after losing 4 wickets for 25 runs. When Australia was at 187 for the loss of 8 wickets in 42 overs, rain interrupted the match. The match was disrupted for a long time due to rain. The Australian innings could not be restarted.
After this the umpires announced the end of the Australian innings and gave Bangladesh a revised target of 192 runs in 41 overs under the DLS rule.

Taskin Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman took 3-3 wickets for Bangladesh. Tanveer Islam took 2 wickets. Bangladesh won the match by 5 wickets by scoring 195 runs for 5 wickets in 35 overs. Bangladesh also did not have a good start and Tanjid Hasan was out without opening the account. For the second wicket, Soumya Sarkar (47) and Nazmul Hasan Shanto (41) laid a strong foundation towards the team’s target by making a partnership of 86 runs. However, both the wickets fell continuously and the team’s score became 3 wickets for 98 runs. After this, captain Liton Das scored 21 runs, Tauhid Hriday scored 40 not out, M. Hossain scored 15 runs, and captain Mehdi Hasan Miraj scored 22 unbeaten runs to lead the team to victory.
Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman was chosen as the player of the match. Rahman took 3 wickets for 27 runs in 7 overs.
