A major change has been made in the schedule of IPL 2026. Due to the upcoming Municipal Corporation elections of Ahmedabad, the venue and timing of IPL 2026 2 matches have been changed. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) informed that due to the Municipal Corporation elections of Ahmedabad, the Chennai Super Kings vs Gujarat Titans match to be held on April 26, 2026, will now be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
These changes happened
Actually, the match between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans was going to be held in Ahmedabad on 26th April. But due to the municipal elections to be held on 26th April, its venue has been changed to Chennai. This match will start at 3:30 pm on 26th April.
On the other hand, the match between these two teams was to be played in Chennai on May 21, but its venue has been changed to Ahmedabad. On May 21, Chennai vs Gujarat match will be played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. This match will start at 7:30 pm.

Apart from these two matches, the schedule of no other match has changed in IPL 2026. Let us remind you that earlier BCCI had released the complete schedule of the tournament in two different phases. Earlier the schedule till April 12 was released. The rest of the schedule was released after the dates of assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, Assam and Kerala were revealed.
If we look at the points table so far in IPL 2026, Rajasthan Royals remain on top by winning all four of their matches. At the same time, this season has not been good for Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans so far. CSK has been able to register only one win in 4 matches and is at ninth position in the points table. Whereas Gujarat team is currently at fifth position.
