Big change in NEET-UG 2027, now the exam will be held for 5-6 days; Exam will be conducted through computer at 1 thousand centers

The central government is going to make big changes regarding NEET-UG. The entire format of the examination may change from next year. Now instead of conducting the exam in pen-paper mode on the same day, it will be computer based and it will be conducted in different shifts over 5 to 6 days. The purpose of this change is to make the examination more secure, transparent and to protect it from incidents like paper leaks.

According to reports, the examination will be held at 1,000 examination centers set up in about 500 cities across the country. Most of these centers will be built in Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV), Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) and other government institutions. Every day around 5 lakh candidates will appear for the exam. Arrangements will be made to seat about 500 candidates every day at all the centres. In this way the examination of all the candidates will be completed in 5-6 days.

Not only will the method of examination change, but large-scale changes will also be made in the National Testing Agency (NTA). According to reports, there will be ‘top to bottom’ changes in the functioning, technology, infrastructure and administrative system of the organization. That means the entire system of NTA will be prepared from scratch. It is believed that this process can be completed by October.

Big decision taken after paper leak

This change is being made after the recent NEET-UG paper leak controversy. This year, the examination held on May 3 had to be cancelled, in which about 22 lakh students had appeared. After this, the examination was conducted again and the investigation of the entire case was handed over to CBI. After this incident, the government has taken many major decisions towards making the examination system completely safe.

This decision of the government was taken by former ISRO chief Dr. K. It is based on the recommendations of a seven-member high-level committee headed by Radhakrishnan. This committee was formed to improve the examination system.

New guidelines will be released soon

The new examination system, list of examination cities, shift timings and other important information will be released by the government after the completion of the change process in NTA. Besides, new technology and monitoring system can also be implemented to further strengthen the examination security.
