Bihar Police Undergraduate Service Commission (BPSSC) has released the result of the main examination for Inspector recruitment. Inspector is to be recruited on a total of 1,799 posts. The main written examination was held on 27 May 2026. More than 34 thousand candidates appeared in the main examination.
On the basis of main examination, 10,759 candidates have been selected for PET. That means, according to the vacancies, about 6 times the number of candidates have been shortlisted for the next phase. The cut-off for general category male candidates is 134 marks and that of female candidates is 116.20 marks.
Quota of seven transgenders, selection of only seven
The most shocking thing in the result of Inspector examination released by Bihar Police Under Service Commission is that there are seven posts of transgenders in the reservation category. Only seven transgender candidates have been successful in the written examination. The physical efficiency test is yet to be conducted.

Let us tell you that out of total 1,799 posts, there are 210 posts for Scheduled Caste, 15 for Scheduled Tribe, 273 for Extremely Backward Class, 222 for Backward Class, 42 for women from Backward Class, 850 for reserved i.e. people of the same class, 180 for Economically Weaker Section and seven for Transgender.
36 posts reserved for the family of freedom fighter
Of these, there is reservation for 35% women from all categories, out of 1,799, 614 posts have been reserved for women while there are 36 posts for the families of freedom fighters. After this result, the final result will be released after further Physical Efficiency Test (PET). It has been told by the Commission that its date will be decided soon. Now the candidates who were selected in the main written examination will start preparing for PET.
