Gujarat Titans vs Kolkata Knight Riders Score: Kolkata Knight Riders, looking for their first win in IPL 2026, have scored 180+ runs. Cameron Green alone kept fighting till the end and somehow took Kolkata to the score of 180. Green played a fighting inning of 79 runs in 55 balls. Captain Ajinkya Rahane could not even open his account.
In this match being played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Kolkata won the toss and decided to bat first. In this match, KKR finally gave New Zealand opener Tim Seifert a chance to open, but he was out after scoring only 19 runs. Kolkata had lost the wickets of all three top order batsmen in the first 24 balls of the innings.
Cameron saved KKR’s shame
Till now Cameron Green was surrounded by criticism for his poor performance. Especially because KKR had bid Rs 25 crore on him in the mini auction. But against Gujarat he reached a respectable score of 79 runs. He first rescued the team from trouble by making a partnership of 55 runs with Rovman Powell. Powell contributed 27 runs.
After that Green created havoc single-handedly. At one time Green was playing after scoring 37 runs in 31 balls. He scored 42 runs in the last 24 balls of his innings. Together with Anukul Roy, he added 60 runs, but most of the runs in this partnership came from Green.
Gujarat’s fast bowlers shine
5 bowlers bowled for Gujarat Titans and all of them took at least one wicket. Especially Kagiso Rabada, Mohammad Siraj and Prasidh Krishna together dismissed 6 batsmen along with controlling the run rate of Kolkata. Young pacer Ashok Sharma was certainly expensive but also took 2 wickets. Rashid Khan also managed to take one wicket.
